Lesley Fountain Studio Drop In Sessions and Workshop Calendar CHANGES TO THIS SCHEDULE - SEE WORKSHOPS PAGE

Lesley Fountain Studio is officially opening this coming Wednesday, September 10th, in the north side of the space formerly known as Tangerine Dream Gallery in Cowichan Bay. To kick off my new studio space I am offering four weekly drop in sessions; two afternoon sessions and two evening sessions.

This little collage piece on artist's board is easily done in a 2 hour drop in session

"Express Yourself" is a two hour drop in art session that runs 1 - 3 pm Wednesday and Friday afternoon and 6 - 8 pm Wednesday evening. All materials are included, and there are a wide range of projects to choose from. Cost is 35.00 per drop in session or 120.00 for four.

UNTIL THE TEACHER'S STRIKE IS RESOLVED - Wednesday afternoon "Express Yourself" sessions are open to Cowichan Valley teachers only, and are FREE. After the strike is resolved this afternoon session will be opened up to the public.

SPACE IS LIMITED - 8 persons max, so first come first eating chocolate and creating!

Beginning Friday, September 26th I will be offering something called "The Salon" - a casual art session where we discuss ideas, books, and whatever strikes our fancy, while creating art. Many different projects to choose from. Three hours - includes all art materials, nibbles and refreshments - 45.00 a session or four sessions for 160.00.

A great way to unwind and start your weekend off with the gift to yourself of creativity, connection and community.

PLEASE REGISTER AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR THIS ART SESSION!

"A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, "either to please or to educate" ("aut delectare aut prodesse est"). Salons, commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, were carried on until quite recently in urban settings." ~ wikipedia.org

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS:

On Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th from 10 am - 4 pm I will be offering a weekend

Passionate Intuitive Painting Workshop:

Some call it intuitive painting, some call it process painting, some call it expressive or spontaneous painting. Essentially, they all mean the same thing - meeting the canvas with no expectation of what the final outcome will be. Painting without getting attached, letting the brushes or fingers or other mark making tools have free rein, and observing what unfolds. This process produces surprising results, as your subconscious mind takes over from your conscious mind, often times revealing hidden parts of yourself to you. The sheer bliss of moving the colour on the canvas is incredibly liberating. Join me for this two day workshop and explore the delightful and liberating process of intuitive painting. Allow your inner creative guide to lead, and marvel at what appears on the canvas. Using a multi-layered approach that incorporates acrylic paints, collage, stenciling and mark making, you will discover your own unique style while creating artwork that has personal meaning for you. This process is incredibly exhilarating and my favorite way to paint!

Cost: $240.00 includes all supplies and materials.

SPACE IS LIMITED, SO PLEASE REGISTER EARLY TO GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT IN THIS WORKSHOP.

On Saturday, October 25th from 10 am - 4 pm I am offering a

Hand Painted Floorcloth Workshop:

Floorcloths have existed since the late 1800s, when thrifty pioneer women would tack large pieces of cloth onto the side of the barn and decorate them as an alternative to carpets. In this all day workshop we will create a work of art for the floor - bring your ideas, I'll supply all the paint, tools and materials. 140.00 includes all supplies and  materials.
